Student Registration
Returning Students
- The online portion of registration for returning students will open in ActiveParent on Tuesday, June 17. Online registration must be completed before moving to the next step, "in person" residency verification.
- Returning student "in person" residency verification is required and will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Petal Primary School on June 18-19 & June 23-24.
- TWO PROOFS OF RESIDENCY ARE REQUIRED.
Must include one from Category A and one from Category B below and be provided by the parent/guardian/custodial adult.

School/Grade Specific Information
Seventh Grade - TDAP Immunization Requirement: All incoming seventh grade students must get their TDAP booster as required by the Mississippi State Department of Health. Proof of the student's booster (immunization compliance MS Form 121) must be provided at "in person" residency verification. Please note that students will not receive their class schedule unless the form is turned in.
New Students
Registration for NEW students to the district takes place on July 8 & 9 at the school they will attend. Please contact the school if you have any questions.
Step One
Welcome to the Petal School District! Please request an ActiveParent account by submitting the account request form below. Once you have completed and submitted the form, please check your email for a confirmation message that should be received within 24 hours with instructions on how to log in. You will then receive another email with a code to begin the "Online Registration" portion and instructions for registering your student(s).
Step Two
After finishing the "Online Registration" portion in Step One, you must schedule an appointment with the school that your student(s) will attend to complete the registration process.
Please bring the following required documents to the appointment:
- Two proofs of residency
- Must include one from Category A and one from Category B below and be provided by the parent/guardian/custodial adult

2. Your student’s birth certificate (an original or a legible copy is acceptable)
3. Immunization records - Must be on a Mississippi-specific Form 121. If you are coming from out of state, you can have your student’s records converted to a 121 form at the Petal School Clinic (36 Panther Stadium Dr. in Petal). Please call 601.450.2144 to schedule an appointment.
4. Your student’s academic transcript and withdrawal form from their previous school showing their current courses and grades.
Affidavits
The following are updates to the affidavit process for registration:

Both parties (homeowner and parent or legal guardian) must be present when obtaining an affidavit.

Both parties (homeowner and parent or legal guardian) must provide a photo ID or government issued ID with the current address.

If a rental agreement/lease is presented as proof of residency, the parent or legal guardian must be listed on the rental agreement/lease. If the parent or legal guardian is not listed, the lessee must have the lessor provide the school district with a notarized letter authorizing the parent or legal guardian and the student to occupy the dwelling
Any suspicion of violation of residence requirements will be investigated. If residency or enrollment documentation is falsified, the district may press charges based on MS Code 97-7-10. In addition, the student may not be allowed to register in the district using the falsified address or through an affidavit for the remainder of the year.
