New Principals Named for 2016-2017 School Year
The Petal School District Board of Trustees approved the hiring of two principals for the upcoming school year at a special called meeting on April 4, 2016. Tessa Trimm was named as the next Principal for Petal Primary School and Rob Knight was approved as the replacement for the Principal position at Petal Upper Elementary. Both individuals are currently serving as Assistant Principals in the Petal School District and will take over their new roles officially on July 1, 2016.
Trimm is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree. She earned a Master’s of Education degree from William Carey University. She has a total of fifteen years experience in education with the majority of years being in the Petal School District. She holds a Specialist Degree from the University of Mississippi and has been employed as an Assistant Principal at Petal Primary for the past two years.
Knight holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He earned his Master’s of Education degree and is currently working on a Specialist Degree from William Carey University. He has twelve years teaching experience and has been employed as the Assistant Principal at Petal Middle School for the past three years.
Superintendent Dr. Matt Dillon is pleased that both employees will be moving into principal positions. “We are excited that we have administrators who continue to grow in their leadership abilities. We know both Tessa and Rob will continue their good work and be able to lead the staffs at these two schools to continue to grow students to reach their highest potentials.”
