Parents of English Language Learners in the Petal School District meet monthly to learn about specific topics and how they can become more involved with their children at school. The November ELL Parent Academy focused on how parents can assist their children in preparing science and reading fair projects. Each family that attended received the materials needed for the display boards. ELL teachers, Tricia Gaillard and Claudia Smith, plan and organize the meetings each month and Americorp Volunteers assist in the meetings which are held at the Petal School District Center for Families and Children.
