Petal High School’s Matt Holeman Named 2024 High School Broyles Award Winner
PETAL, Miss. – Petal High School is proud to announce that Offensive Line Coach Matt “Pete” Holeman has been named the recipient of the 2024 High School Broyles Award, a prestigious honor recognizing the top high school assistant football coach in every participating state. This award highlights Coach Holeman’s dedication, leadership, and lasting impact on the Petal Panther football program, as well as his unwavering commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
"Coach Holeman’s passion for coaching and commitment to students is truly exceptional. We are so Panther Proud to see him recognized for his impact on our football program and the district," said Dr. Matthew Dillon, Superintendent of Schools.
The Broyles Award was established in 1996 to honor the legacy of Coach Frank Broyles, renowned for his ability to recruit and develop top assistant coaches during his tenure as head coach at Arkansas. In 2018, the award expanded its tradition of recognizing the nation’s best collegiate assistant football coaches by introducing the High School Broyles Award, shining a national spotlight on the most outstanding high school assistant coaches across the country.
Coach Holeman’s recognition not only celebrates his individual excellence but also reinforces Petal High School’s reputation for developing top-tier student-athletes and leaders.
