Big Ideas/Goals for the year
Throughout the school year, fifth grade ELA students will develop good habits of independent reading and writing through a wide-range of high-quality, increasingly challenging literary and informational texts. These texts will feature historical events and key figures from American history, as well as serve to build a solid foundation of background knowledge and rich vocabulary, while developing a range of skills to become sophisticated writers of informational, narrative, and opinion text.
What parents can do to help their child-
Please, encourage your child to read at home for both school and pleasure. Establish a routine homework time and setting.
