I joined the Petal High School faculty as an intern in August 1997. Upon completion of my internship, I was hired as the Freshmen and Sophomore Counselor and AP Coordinator at PHS.
I graduated from Richton High School and continued my education at Jones County Junior College. After spending two years at Jones, I transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi where I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Social and Rehabilitation Services. I then went on to earn a Masters of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services at Southern Miss. I am a past President of the Pine Belt Counseling Association and past secretary of the Mississippi Counseling Association. I have received over 150 hours of crisis response training by the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA). In October 2001, I was one of the many crisis responders to New York City following the World Trade Center attacks.
I have one daughter, Addison. She is a 5th grader at Petal Upper Elementary School.
