I am a proud graduate of Petal High and a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi with a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education with an emphasis in Educational Administration. I am beginning my 30th year with Petal Schools as Director of Student Assessment. Previously I served at Petal High as an Assistant Principal and prior to that role I taught computer programming and business technology classes.
My graduate studies at The University of Southern Mississippi prepared me in educational research where my area of data expertise is in interpreting quantitative and qualitative data. My dissertation topic was “Matching Time of Day and Preference for Adolescent Achievement”.
In 2004, I was awarded National Board Certification in Career and Technology Education. I have been a past adjunct instructor at The University of Southern Mississippi and at Pearl River Community College.
I currently serve as an External Evaluator for two grants through USM: a Campus Link AmeriCorp grant and The National Science Foundation’s GK12 Connections in the Classroom. I am also a technology consultant and currently train teachers and administrators that are partners with The Gulf Coast Education Initiative Consortium.
I am married to Dr. Richard S. Mohn, an Associate Professor in Educational Studies and Research at The University of Southern Mississippi. I have two daughters, Crystal and Kelli, who are both hospice nurses.
