• Picture Mrs. Luckett is in her sixteenth year of teaching and her seventh year as the Director of Choirs at Petal High School. Prior to teaching here in Petal, Mrs. Luckett was the Director of Choirs at Pascagoula High School, where she conducted the award-winning IMPACT Show Choir, the Pascagoula Varsity Choir, the Pascagoula Concert Choir, and was the Color Guard Instructor for the Pride of the Panthers Marching Band Color Guard.  While at Pascagoula, Mrs. Luckett built the show choir program and IMPACT consistently won their division from 2007 - 2010, was named Grand Champion of the South Jones Show Choir Invitational in 2008,  and received Best Vocals, Best Female Sound, and 2nd-runner up at the Show Choir Nationals Competition in Nashville in 2009.  

    Mrs. Luckett is originally from Clinton, MS where she graduated in 1996 from Clinton High School.  Mrs. Luckett was a member of the Attache' Show Choir, the Clinton Marching Band Color Guard, the Clinton Symphonic Band and the Clinton Concert Band.  After graduating high school, Mrs. Luckett attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a member of the USM Chorale and University Singers, the USM Marching Band Color Guard, and the USM Symphony Chorus.  Mrs. Luckett holds both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Music Education: Vocal Emphasis from the University of Southern Mississippi. 

    In the 2017 competition season, the Petal Innovations won 1st place in the Women's Division, advanced to the finals competition and placed 2nd runner-up and the Petal Soundsations received 1st place in the AAA Division, advanced to finals and received Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Oustanding Set Design as well as Grand Champion at the MS Show Choir Contest hosted by Pearl River Community College.  Also Phoebe Stutts was selected as a solo finalists; Kinsley Morris received the Best Female Performer Award; Christian Sandoval won the solo competition.
    Then the Innovations won Grand Champion, Best Choreography, and Best Show Design in the Women's division and Soundsations received 1st runner-up at the South Central Classic hosted by Homewood High School.
    Next the Innovations won 1st place in their division, advanced to the finals competition where they were awarded 4th runner-up and Soundsations received 1st place in the AAA Division and Grand Champion, Oustanding Vocals, Outstanding Visuals, and Outstanding Overall Effect at the Magnolia Invitational hosted by Oak Grove High School.  
    Finally the Petal Innovations received 1st runner-up in the Women's Division and Soundsations received 2nd runner-up and overall Best Set Design at the Crystal Classic hosted by Fairfield High School in Fairfield, OH.  2017 was a great competition season for the PETAL HIGH SCHOOL SHOW CHOIRS.  

    Mrs. Luckett is a member of the American Choral Director's Association.
