Dr. Bowman received his Doctorate of Education Degree from William Carey University in 2022.  As a teacher, he taught a number of English courses and coached baseball. Dr. Bowman has been in education since 2009 and joined the Petal School District in 2017. While in Petal, he worked as an Assistant Principal and Assistant CTE Director at PHS. He also served as Co-Principal of the Petal Education Center. He has been married to his wife, Christy, since 2014. She works at USM as a Manager of Student Involvement. In 2019, they celebrated the birth of their first child, Winiford Channing Bowman, and in 2022, their second child, William James Bowman.
