Mrs. Penny Barnes

I am a native of Collins, MS. I attended Collins High School and Alcorn State University (Home of the Braves)! I received my Masters and Specialist degree from William Carey University, where I am currently in pursuit of my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. I have lived in Petal for the past 15 years. I love children and helping others succeed or achieve their goals. Prior to working at Petal High School, I served in various  roles in Hattiesburg Public Schools, such as teacher, counselor, and assistant principal. I have received teacher of the year and the American Star of Teaching Award. I also work at Petal Education Center. I am proud to be a part of Panther Nation!

I love to read, travel, and spend time with my family and friends.
