Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Austin Boudreaux

Greetings Parents and Students,

My name is Austin Boudreaux, and I am so excited about continuing my teaching journey here at Petal High School. This year, I will be teaching 9th grade U.S. Government and 10th grade World History. I believe the skills my students learn in history will help mold them into open-minded and well-informed young adults. I am passionate about instilling the historical thinking and literacy skills that my students will need to become well-rounded and articulate citizens, no matter where their bright future may take them. I am driven by the belief that all students have the potential to become the best version of themselves, and I will do everything in my power to help my students attain their goals. I set high expectations of myself as an educator and I will set those same high expectations for my students as we learn together.

I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, graduating from Brother Martin High School in 2017. I made a new home for myself here, attending the University of Southern Mississippi, where I earned my bachelor's degree in History Licensure in May 2021. I had the pleasure of student teaching in the Petal High School history department. After graduating, I spent a year teaching 7th grade ELA at Petal Middle School. I am so thrilled to be back at PHS and continue my lifelong dream of being an educator. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy fishing, hiking, sports, and just about anything else that allows me to be outdoors. I spend my weekends with my dogs Haze and Maple, both black labs, and my fiancé, Penny.
