Mr. David Merrill

Hello! I am currently entering my fifth year of teaching. I guess I should start with the fact that I really love teaching, and I am passionate about science. I have a wife and two boys at home who I love with all my heart. They are the best! I was not always a teacher. I served nine years in the military and loved my opportunity to serve my country. I received a degree in biological sciences with a minor in chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi. During my time at USM, I taught a Developmental Biology lab. I also worked in a research lab that uncovered genes important for CNS development in the fruit fly. My favorite part about teaching is that I get to be a part of students finding out the "Why" and the "Wonder" that makes up science. I am currently teaching Biology, Botany, Environmental Science, and Chemistry.
