Lieutenant Colonel (retired) William Wolfarth is the Senior Army Instructor for the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at Petal High School. He received his Bachelors degree and was commissioned as an ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of South Alabama in 1986. During his 22 years on active duty he served as a tank platoon leader, armor company commander, ground cavalry squadron executive officer, and armor task force battalion commander. He has served with the First, Third, and Fourth Infantry Divisions, and the Second Armored Cavalry Regiment.
His military education includes the Armor Officers’ Basic and Advanced Courses, the Cavalry Leaders’ Course, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and the Army Command and General Staff College. His military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and Parachutist Badge.
Bill and his wife Diane married in 1990. They have been Petal residence since 2003. LTC Wolfarth previously taught JROTC at George County High School for five years and Diane has been a teacher in the Petal School District since 2008. They have three daughters; Lauren, Allison, and Caroline.
