    The STAR Student is the senior who has the highest score on the ACT.  The ACT must have been taken before December 31 of the senior year.  To be eligible for the STAR Student honor, a student must be a regularly enrolled senior in an accredited public or private high school.  The student must be completing his or her last year of work and must be eligible to receive a diploma in the current school year.  The student must have an ACT score of at least 25 and an overall average of 93 or above in selected subjects in the 9th, 10th, 11th, and first-semester 12th grades.  More information is available in the guidance office. http://www.msmec.com/index.php/activities/star-student-program
