    Dawn Tisdale,  School Counselor              

    I have been in education for 30 years.  I began my career as a kindergarten teacher at North Forrest Elementary School.  During my 4 years there, I completed my Master's degree in School Counseling at the University of Southern Mississippi. University of Southern Mississippi
    I worked for three years as the high school counselor at Collins High School in Collins, MS, before coming to Petal.  I was initially hired as the freshman/sophomore counselor as well as the vocational counselor.  I have worked as special populations coordinator as well.  For the past 19 years I have worked as the junior/senior counselor as well as the School Test Coordinator.  I am now in charge of all students whose last name begins with the letters H through O.   I have also completed my administration certification.  I am a certified National Crisis Responder and Trainer for the National Organization for Victim's Assistance (NOVA).  NOVAI was honored to serve as a crisis responder to New York City following the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.
    I am married to Kirk Tisdale.  I have 2 children - Brianna, a graduate of Petal High School and Mississippi State University, and Trey, a junior at William Carey University.  Brianna is married to Dustin Langley, a Petal High School and Mississippi State graduate.  They have a son, Marshall Kirkland Langley.  We live in the country on a farm.  I enjoy going to football and baseball games.  I am a member of Petal Harvey Baptist Church where I work with the college department and sing in the praise team and the choir.
