Step 1          File an application for employment with the Petal School District,
                    either online or at the School District Central Office and check
                    on the availability of bus driver positions

Step 2          Obtain a CDL (commercial driver’s license), with P (passenger)
                    and S (school bus) endorsements

Step 3          Attend the State Bus Driver Certification course required by
                    the Mississippi Department of Education and given through
                    the Petal School District

Step 4          Pass a health physical required by the Mississippi Department of Transportation
