As many of you probably know, Governor Tate Reeves has closed the school buildings for the remainder of the year, but made it clear that At-Home Learning was still going to proceed as normal. We want to encourage our students to continue to stay engaged in their work each week. Our teachers will continue to provide weekly assignments and feedback to students each week as well as grades entered weekly. Check Active Parent/Student weekly to monitor your student’s progress. We understand that this is not the ideal learning environment for many of our students, and we would much rather be in school during this time. We are, however, going to make the best of the situation while continuing to provide quality work. We also are sensitive to the fact that some of our students are facing a litany of challenges during this unprecedented time in our history. Our teachers are taking all of these things into account and are working hard to provide a balance of the right amount of work. Between the time that students were out for Spring Break and this August will have been a long time that students were not in a traditional school setting. We are committed to providing them with quality work that ensures that they continue on track for reaching their full academic potential and we know that is your desire as well.
If you are struggling with internet access, paper copies can be provided for your student and can be picked up in front of the school on Monday afternoons. Please just reach out to your student’s teacher to let them know that you need these hard copies of the work. If you have any questions about an assignment, please do not hesitate to email your student’s teacher and if you do not get a response within 24 hours, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We care deeply about your students and will continue to provide them with engaging assignments so that they can continue to be better prepared for their futures. Please encourage your student to give their best effort on their work and reach out to us if you have any questions about their assignments. We look forward to continuing to work with you and our students to close out this year successfully.
