Hi! My name is Melanie Friend. This is my 13th year to teach in the Petal School District and my 8th year to teach second grade. I love teaching and second grade is my absolute favorite! I am a graduate of Seminary High School and I earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from William Carey University. My family and I have called Petal our home for nine years. I have two boys, Ethan and Eli, and a fur baby named Summer. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, running, and being outdoors.
